Yicheng Yang

Bio
Yicheng Yang is a Postdoctoral Associate in Dr. Jehangir Bhadha’s group at the University of Florida Soil, Water, and Ecosystem Sciences Department. He is involved in the Treatment Technologies for Phosphorus Mitigation project. His work includes testing the phosphorus removal capabilities of market-available adsorbents and informing stakeholders accordingly. Additionally, he aims to understand stakeholders’ needs for phosphorus removal products to establish standards and select appropriate products for future demonstration projects.
Yicheng obtained his Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the University of Florida. Additionally, he holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Cell Biology from the University of Manchester, UK, and Biotechnology from Nanjing Medical University, China.
His research interests include biochar engineering and modifications, advanced wastewater treatment technologies, nitrogen and phosphorus removal, remediation of heavy metals and emerging contaminants, as well as the design and optimization of constructed wetlands.
