Patrick Hogsed
Bio
Patrick B. Hogsed is a Ph.D. candidate in Computational Chemistry at North Carolina State University under the supervision of Dr. Yaroslava G. Yingling. His research integrates molecular dynamics simulations and machine learning to study protein–ligand interactions, focusing on peptide design for aqueous phosphorus capture. He develops data-driven frameworks that bridge molecular modeling, cheminformatics, and materials informatics to advance sustainable nutrient recovery technologies. He is a contributing researcher on the 2.3 Project: “Development and Environmental/Economic Analysis of P-Selective Materials for Scaling Up Phosphorus Recovery,” where he works to connect molecular-scale insights with scalable solutions for phosphorus sustainability.
