Bio

Mahdi Bin Zahid is a Ph.D. student in the Environmental Engineering program at Arizona State University (ASU). He works with Dr. Paul Westerhoff as part of STEPS; his specific STEPS-related research project is currently being determined and will be updated once confirmed. Before starting his Ph.D., Mahdi was a Lecturer and a faculty member of the department of Civil Engineering at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), teaching Environmental Engineering Lab and supporting Civil Engineering coursework. He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering specialization) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), where his undergraduate thesis on seasonal microplastic contamination in Buriganga River sediments (Dhaka) was accepted for poster presentation at the ECI International Conference in Switzerland.
