Nafisa Amin
Bio
Nafisa Amin is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Fiber and Polymer Science at North Carolina State University. She earned both her bachelors and master’s degrees in physics at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. Nafisa then moved to the US attend the master’s program at University of Oklahoma. Nafisa is currently working with Dr. Wei Gao and Dr. Detlef Knappe on synthesizing a graphene oxide based two-dimensional (2D) sorbent structure via mimicking a group of phosphate binding proteins (PBPs) in nature with a focus is on promoting high selectivity and regeneration ability simultaneously. Her research is a part of both theme 1.
