Jessica Deaver
Bio
Jessica Deaver is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar working with Dr. Call on theme 2. Her background is in civil, construction, and environmental engineering. She earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences from Clemson University in 2022 and B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Miami in 2017. Dr. Deaver is currently in the Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering department of North Carolina State University. Deaver’s previous research focused on microbial community dynamics in anaerobic wastewater treatment technologies like anaerobic digesters and microbial electrochemical cells. Current research involves understanding mechanisms of phosphorus uptake and release in polyphosphate accumulating organisms (PAOs) found in enhanced biological phosphorus removal wastewater treatment processes.
