Bio
Daniel O’Nolan is a Research Chemist within the Technology Advancement and Commercialization business unit at RTI International in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Daniel joined RTI International in July 2021 and has been heavily involved with material discovery and development efforts for decarbonization, environmental remediation, catalysis, and drug delivery. His research focuses on the design of novel functional materials and their study using X-ray scattering methods, as well as the development of methods and cells to study materials under diverse environments and heterogeneities.
Daniel O’Nolan earned a B. Sc. (Hons) in Industrial Biochemistry from the University of Limerick (2014) and a Ph. D. in Crystal Engineering from the same institute (2018). Before joining RTI International, he held postdoctoral fellowship positions at Georgia Institute of Technology, in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (2018-2019), and at Stony Brook University, in the Department of Chemistry (2019-2021). He has published ca. 36 peer-reviewed publications focused generally on chemistry and crystallography.
