Chris Gorman
Bio
Christopher (Chris) Gorman, is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry. His research focuses on the design, synthesis and characterization of new materials that have new, useful properties. He has recently began work on materials that can capture, concentrate and subsequently release phosphorous.
Gorman earned a B.A. degree in Chemistry and Computer Science from Drew University and a Ph. D. in Chemistry from Caltech. After completing postdoctoral studies at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory and at Harvard University, he joined the faculty at North Carolina State University. He is a recipient of the NCSU Alumni Outstanding Research Award and has served as Chair of the Department of Chemistry.
