Berson Valcin

Bio
Berson Valcin is a graduate student at the doctoral level in Dr. Jehangir Bhadha’s research program. His research focuses on developing and testing treatment technologies for phosphorus remediation. Berson’s work aims to reduce phosphorus concentration in freshwater bodies to improve water quality. Berson worked for a couple of years in the phosphate manufacturing industry researching, developing, and testing new technologies to improve phosphate fertilizer use efficiency.
Berson earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Management from EARTH University, Costa Rica, and a master’s degree in plant and soil sciences with focus on plant phosphorus nutrition and sustainable agriculture from Tuskegee University, Alabama, USA.
His research interests include phosphorus sustainability, water quality, soil fertility/plant nutrition, fertilizer technologies, and fertilizer use efficiency.
