Barira Rashid
Bio
Barira Rashid is a PhD student in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arkansas. Originally from Pakistan, she brings a strong background in environmental sciences and remote sensing & GIS to her academic pursuits. With a keen interest in the applications of geomatics in environmental management and sustainability, Barira is dedicated to leveraging remote sensing technology to address pressing environmental challenges. Currently, she is actively engaged in research under theme 3 in the STEPS program, collaborating with Dr. Rebecca Muenich on the mapping of animal feeding operations using machine learning methods. Through her work, Barira strives to contribute to the advancement of sustainable practices and environmental management.
