Bio

Madeline Stallard is a postdoctoral research scholar in Science Education at North Carolina State University. Madeline works at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. Her research interests include K-12 teacher professional development, students’ science knowledge and perceptions, and informal science education. Madeline worked on several research projects throughout her time at the Friday Institute including a study of virus/vaccine education among K-12 students and a study of graphical representations used by secondary teachers in climate change education. Her dissertation work, funded by the NSF, looked at micro-credential-based teacher professional development and the effects of this type of professional development on rural high school STEM teachers. She works with Gail Jones in education research as a part of STEPS.
