Dr. Minliang Yang is an assistant professor in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing, and Nutrition Sciences at NC State. Her research program mainly focuses on applying rigorous methodologies, specifically life-cycle assessment (LCA) and technoeconomic analysis (TEA), to identify environmental hotspots and drive process improvements for sustainable agri-food systems. Yang will work on the project titled ‘Improving P footprints in protein foods via alternative sources’.
Before joining NC State, Yang received her postdoc training in sustainability analysis at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL) and Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI). She earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering from Iowa State University.
