Austin Henke is a post-doctoral research scholar in the Paul Westerhoff group at Arizona State University, School of Engineering. His STEPS research focuses on studying the speciation of organic and inorganic compounds in water using various analytical techniques. Austin also conducts research within the NEWT (Nanotechnology Enabled Water Treatment) center in the Westerhoff group, and is interested in science education and mentoring fellow researchers. Austin received his Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Wisconsin – Madison with a focus on analytical chemistry, studying oxidation-reduction reactions at diamond and metal oxide surfaces. Prior to this, he completed a B.S. degree majoring in chemistry and minoring in classical studies and ancient Greek at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO.
